Immigrate to Canada

What is Express Entry?

The fastest and one of the most popular pathways is Express Entry System for those seeking permanent residence (PR) in Canada. Through this system, Canada welcomes around 110,000 skilled workers every year to its land.Express Entry is an electronic process that manages the application of skilled workers who apply to obtain permanent residence iand immigrate to Canada. The candidates are ranked basis the Comprehensive ranking system (CRS) once their profile enters the express entry pool. The CRS is used to assess and rank the candidates in the Express Entry pool. It is a point-based system that calculates scores basis the applicants’ education, work experience, age, language skills, adaptability factors, and a few other factors.

It might not be easy to meet the current CRS cut-off of the Express Entry draw due to low CRS scores, age, or other factors. However, the good part is that you could get a nomination for permanent residence from a province if your profile matches their eligibility requirements by merely being in the pool of candidates.

IRCC declares the express Entry draw approximately every two weeks, selects the highest scoring candidate from a pool of Express Entry profiles, and sends them an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for permanent residence.

The government plans to invite over 240,000 newcomers in the next three years through the three programs of Express Entry:

  • Federal Skilled Worker (FSW)
  • Federal Skilled Trades (FST)
  • Canadian Experience Class (CEC)
